Viewers will be hard pressed to ever find such a fast, broad, dramatic and horrible range of emotions as happened Sunday when Fox initiated NASCAR's $2.8 billion multi-network deal with the Daytona 500 death ride of legendary driver Dale Earnhardt.
It had seemed the telecast highlight would be Darrell Waltrip, analyzing his first Winston Cup points race for Fox, emotionally rooting on brother Michael to his first victory after 462 tries - making that first win the Super Bowl of auto racing.
