The South African Ministry of Health announced today that the South African Medicines Control Council (MCC) has granted approval for distribution of a tablet form of Pfizer Inc.'s antifungal medicine Diflucan for the treatment of oesophageal candidiasis. Diflucan is already an approved treatment for cryptococcal meningitis in South Africa.
