Time was when you couldn't think of one without thinking of the other: the NBA's Latrell Sprewell and the NHL's Marty McSorley. They were rotten peas in the same pod.
They'd gone so far astray of what was considered acceptable behavior in venting frustration that their respective leagues suspended them for a year. Sprewell for choking his coach a few years ago. McSorley for cold cocking an unsuspecting opponent with a deadly swing of his stick just last season.
Their transgressions were so despicable that some of us on the outside wondered whether either man should be allowed again to earn millions playing his game with others. They were the faces we ...
