Feb. 21--Snowboarders, surfers and other twenty-something thrill seekers are spurring sizable growth for a small Colorado sunglasses company.
Mountain Shades of Edgewater, just west of Denver, designs Optic Nerve and several other brands of sunglasses. The company expects to increase sales 20 percent this year to $4.8 million.
By comparison, the industry is growing at a more modest pace, according to the Sunglass Association of America, which expects overall sales to grow by 5.1 percent in 2001 to $2.7 billion.
