AMTRAK CHAIRMAN TELLS BYRD W.VA. AT TOP OF RAIL UPGRADE LIST
WASHINGTON, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The chairman of the Amtrak rail system told U.S. Sen. Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.) today that the Cardinal passenger train that passes through southern West Virginia heads his list for upgrading tri-weekly runs to daily service.
Byrd, a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, asked Amtrak Chairman Graham Claytor if the Cardinal's current tri-weekly service could be upgraded to provide more convenience to West Virginians, leading to increased ridership.
