Jeff Hammer of Wachapreague, Va., has delivery of the latest model from Glass Boat Works of Exmore, Va., the Hammer Head Scow.
The design of the 25' 10" x 9' 3" x 1' boat was developed by Hammer and Rick Arvidson, owner of Glass Boat Works, for working in shallow water. In Hammer's case, he wanted a boat capable of working the shallow water oyster beds around Virginia's barrier islands.
