Whether you love the XFL or consider it an aberration, you have to have a grudging admiration for the delicate balancing act Bill Simonson is trying to pull off as the voice of the Enforcers.
Either doing his afternoon shift on WMVP 1000-AM or play-by-play for the Enforcers on the same station, Simonson knows it's important to seem as if you're enjoying yourself. At the same time, he's a serious broadcaster who works hard to make his on-air style seem effortless and natural.
"The toughest thing to do, I think, in play-by is to create an atmosphere where you're really having fun," Simonson says.
