Today's lesson: Pierogi are a great, traditional comfort dish similar to large, half-moon-shaped ravioli. Although often considered ordinary today, we explore a new approach to these timeless classics.
What exactly are pierogi? The Polish pierogi are pasta dumplings traditionally stuffed with potatoes, cabbage, onions, ground pork, mushrooms and other earthy ingredients. After filling, the dough is boiled then drained and sauteed until golden, often along with onions. The pasta and moist rich center are comfort food at its best.
