TACLOBAN CITY, Feb 27 Asia Pulse - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Region VIII established 17 new agrarian reform communities (ARCs) last year, bringing to 104 the total of ARCs in the region.
Support Services division chief Paulina Canales said ARCs are now the focus of the current efforts of DAR in providing infrastructure and support services to the rural areas.
Canales reported that last year, various infrastructure support projects to ARCs amounting to some P700 million were implemented by DAR and other line agencies, local government units, and non-government organizations benefitting more than 10,000 farmers regionwide.
