Feb. 26--Michael LaVecchia was a seafood salesman without any fish to sell.
So on this day in November, he was baby-sitting. While he typed on a computer in his Charlotte office, his 2-year-old daughter pieced together red and yellow Legos at the edge of his desk.
Outside, the South End trolley clanged its bell as it crawled through the intersection at West Boulevard, and his daughter looked up.
"Do you hear the choo-choo?" LaVecchia asked Sophia, lightly touching her head so as not to disturb the pink ribbon on her pigtail.
