Mar. 1--Here's more evidence that online gaming is becoming as mainstream as the neighbor's SUV: EA.com, the Web site known by many for its absorbing Ultima Online combat role-playing game, Wednesday acquired the queen of solitaire -- Pogo.com -- in a deal analysts estimate at $50 million.
The marriage brings together the hard-core gaming "geek-boys" who roam Ultima's virtual world through EA.com and the 17 million casual gamers who drop by Pogo's site for a quick game of hearts or a hand of Buckaroo Blackjack.
