During the first three years of the Ninth Plan, the capacity addition in Major Ports has accrued to 38.05 Million Tonnes (MT). With this, the total capacity of Major Ports is expected to reach 314 MT by March 31, 2001.
The total approved outlay for Major Ports during the Ninth Five Year is Rs. 8543 crores.
