Article: Dallas Employees' to Lasso in REITs.

The board for the Dallas Employees' Retirement Fund, Dallas, this month decided to add REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts) to the $1.9 billion pension plan's medley of investments. It will likely search for one or more managers to take on up to 5%, or $95 million by the end of the year, said Newton Bruce, assistant administrator of investments.

The board has not yet decided if it will issue RFPs or turn to Rosalind Hewsenian of Wilshire Associates, Santa Monica, Calif., for a short list of candidates. At this time, its priority is to build up its knowledge about REITs.
