Local elementary school children still labor to memorize the names of American presidents from Virginia, but according to one local historian, they always leave out three of the most important.
Calvert Walke Tazewell has often said, ``Ask any Virginia fourth grader how many presidents were born in his State, and he will name eight for you - Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Taylor, Tyler, Harrison and Wilson. He probably will not know, though, that Virginia also produced presidents for the Republic of Liberia in West Africa.''
