This week's opening of the Hilton Madison was cause for celebration -- not only for the Marcus Corp., which developed the hotel, but also for all Madison residents who take pride in the city, and help to pay its bills.
The Hilton Madison, a 240-room Downtown hotel, is the long-awaited adjunct to the Monona Terrace Convention Center. Attached to Monona Terrace via a skywalk, the $29.5 million hotel promises to make Monona Terrace a more desirable location for conventions and, consequently, to make Downtown Madison a busier and more profitable place.
