Feb. 7--DENVER--The State Board of Agriculture on Tuesday threw its support behind the University of Southern Colorado proposal to change its name.
The Ag Board is the governing body of USC, Colorado State University and Fort Lewis College.
Pueblo state Rep. Joyce Lawrence has submitted legislation seeking to change USC's name to Colorado State University-Pueblo.
In an effort to support that plan, the Ag Board, on a 5-1 vote, agreed to support the legislation, which would make the name change effective July 1, 2003.
