NORMAN, Okla. _ Don't pity coach Kelvin Sampson's Sooners.
Oklahoma basketball will survive without its best player.
The 17th-ranked Sooners demonstrated that again Saturday night with their 68-56 victory against archrival Oklahoma State before 12,159 spectators who packed Lloyd Noble Center. It marked the Sooners' second victory in three games without point guard J.R. Raymond, whom Sampson suspended and ultimately dismissed from the squad seven days ago for violating team policy. The Sooners lost, 68-60, to Maryland on Feb. 25 in their first game without Raymond.
