SAN FRANCISCO_The San Francisco Demons have said backup quarterback Pat Barnes could start for most every other XFL team. They're just glad he's now starting for them.
It was a night of firsts for Barnes and the Demons as they rolled to a 39-10 win over the Birmingham Thunderbolts on Saturday night at Pacific Bell Park.
Barnes stole the show in his first start, throwing for two touchdowns and running for one to the delight of 33,403 fans.
That was the announced attendance, even though some ticket holders likely played hooky because of the wet weather. Crazy George braved the rain, beating his drum to incite the crowd.
The Demons (3-2) ...
