LEXINGTON, Ky. _ If a clear favorite for the Kentucky Derby is out there, it's time to step forward.
Really time to step forward. Time is running out.
Point Given hasn't raced this year for trainer Bob Baffert. Another top choice, AP Valentine, has raced only once.
Trainer Nick Zito is saying he might not make the Kentucky Derby with his talented son of A.P. Indy who is owned in part by Rick Pitino.
Assessing Derby prospects will be more difficult than usual this year, with the leading candidates so lightly raced. In fact, it seems like these two trainers are forging a new trail to the Derby: the road less taken.
