NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MARCH 5, 2001

The Ipsos Group today announced it has completed its acquisition of the Market Research Division of the NPD Group, the third major North American acquisition by Ipsos in the last year. The deal places Ipsos among the Top 10 market research companies in the U.S., with projected revenues of more than $200 million from its combined U.S. and Canadian operations this year.

Under terms of the deal - the biggest in the company's 25-year history - Ipsos has acquired the HTI Consumer Panel and three other NPD consumer panels totaling 500,000 households used for mail and telephone research, ...
