Michael Ledeen is a political theorist who delved into the foreign policy world during the late Cold War--like Straussians Nathan Tarcov, Francis Fukuyama, and Carnes Lord. Ledeen has recently returned to his roots as occupant of the American Enterprise Institute's Freedom Chain His primer on Tocqueville follows another primer of his, published in 1999, entitled Machiavelli on Modern Leadership. It is to be hoped that St. Martin's Press brings out a series of such books.
