Singer Ray Charles was recently honored for his $2 million donation to Wilberforce (OH) University. The contribution was the largest gift given to the historically Black school.
In a convocation in the school's Alumni Multiplex, several students paid tribute to Charles through music and special presentations.
"The Ray Charles Appreciation Day convocation was an opportunity for the university to show its gratitude to Mr. Charles and the Robinson Foundation for Hearing Disorders," said University President John L. Henderson.
