BANKERS TRUST NEW YORK AGREEMENT WITH BANK OF CALIFORNIA
NEW YORK, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Bankers Trust New York Corporation (NYSE: BT) has reached agreement in principle with the Bank of California, a subsidiary of the Mitsubishi Bank, Limited, of Tokyo, to purchase the California bank's corporate trust business. Bankers Trust Company of California, a subsidiary of Bankers Trust New York Corporation, will take over the business, which consists of trustee and agency appointments for securities of approximately $14 billion in principal amount. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
