As predicted by analysts last week, a new round of price wars has started in the Australian domestic market.
Impulse Airlines, a new low-cost carrier, has launched a AUD39 each-way fare for travel between Sydney and Brisbane during March and April. This has been matched by Qantas, an established Australian carrier. Impulse Airlines' fares can only be purchased at the carrier's web site during March.
Although Qantas has matched the low price, two other Australian domestic carriers, Ansett and Virgin Blue, have made no attempt to match the fare. A spokesperson for Ansett told the ...
