Freddie Mac (NYSE: FRE), Firstar Bank and Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. of Freeport announced today a new public-private initiative that will make it easier for many low- and moderate- income families to buy homes throughout Stephenson County, Ill.
The Stephenson County Ownership Options Program (SCOOP) initiative is expected to help an estimated 30 families over the next two years become homeowners. Freddie Mac has committed to purchase $5 million in flexible, low- downpayment mortgages over a two-year period. ...
