New York, Florida and Washington, D.C., lead the nation in the rate of both men and women with AIDS and several other seemingly unlikely states have rates above that of California, according to data reported July 1999 through June 2000 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
While the national AIDS rate is 30.1 per 100,000 population for men and 9 per 100,000 for women, Washington, D.C., leads the nation with a rate of 352.4 cases per 100,000 for men and 106.4 cases per 100,000 for women.
The rate was 70 per 100,000 for men and 27.8 per 100,000 for women in New York and 58.8 per 100,000 for men and 22.7 per 100,000 for women in ...
