Northland College has been served with liens totaling nearly $900,000 against its new $12 million science building from subcontractors who performed work or supplied material for the building but have not been paid.
Harold Vanselow Jr., the college's vice president of finance and administration, said Monday the $884,275 in liens filed in Ashland County Circuit Court against the college for work performed on the Larson-Juhl Center for Science and the Environment could rise to more than $1 million.
The companies, and the amount of their liens, so far filed include Chicago Iron and Supplies, Ashland, $12,611; Forslund Building Supply, Ashland, $14,302; ...
