Elk River's Kelly Plude was trying to make a spectacular pass to teammate Joel Hanson. Instead, he made a spectacular goal with a little help from the opposition.
Plude wanted to pass across the net to a wide-open Hanson. But Eastview's Jerry Olson grazed the puck with his stick and redirected it into the goal. It wasn't what Plude had in mind, but it worked just the same.
"I didn't really see it happen," Plude said. "I was just glad to see the puck go in the net."
Plude's power-play goal early in the third period proved to be the difference Thursday as Elk River advanced to the Class AA semifinals ...
