TAIWAN SEEKS FREE TRADE AGREEMENT WITH UNITED STATES

WASHINGTON, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Taiwan is seeking a free trade agreement (FTA) with the United States following the U.S.-Israel and the U.S.-Canada model, according to Ke-sheng Sheu, director of the Economic Division of the Coordination Council for North American Affairs, Taiwan's representative office in Washington.

In a presentation before the International Trade Commission on Nov. 29, Sheu said that Taiwan is prepared to undergo the complicated procedures of FTA negotiations with the United States.
