The structure to support an expansion of Cincinnati's convention center over I-75 could cost as much as three times the original $25 million estimate, a task force studying the project learned today.
That would bring the total estimated cost of expanding the convention center west over the interstate to at least $375 million.
Expanding over I-75 could also delay the project two years, until the Ohio Department of Transportation completes its plans for rebuilding the Brent Spence Bridge and its approach ramps. That means the expansion would likely not open before 2009.
