DALLAS _ Not all hockey injuries are created equal.
Some can be overcome, some merely weathered.
Put the groin pull that will sideline center Joe Nieuwendyk three to six weeks into the latter category.
The Stars might actually be able to survive and even overachieve short term. Maybe Mike Modano can continue the best imitation of a one-man army since the Rambo movies. Collectively, the team can overcome Nieuwendyk's absence with a steely mentality.
Even with Nieuwendyk sidelined, even with Teemu Selanne trading the Magic Kingdom for Silicon Valley, the Stars should be able to build on their three-point lead in the Pacific Division and ...
