Mar. 12--LAMAR, Colo.--Southeastern Colorado political and community leaders rallied here in favor of a Ports-to-Plains route along U.S. 287.
"We want the world to know that we are alive out here," said Jan Anderson, director of Southeast Colorado Economic Development Inc.
The Ports-to-Plains project first was identified by Congress in 1998 as a way to transport goods from Mexico to Canada more efficiently, explained Joe Kiely, Limon city administrator.
