Alaska, Canada End Feud Over Natural Gas Pipeline Route
Canadian and Alaskan officials are no longer arguing that any one route is the best way to transport natural gas from Alaska's North Slope and Canada's Mackenzie River Delta/Beaufort Sea to markets in the south.
Now, Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles, Yukon Premier Patricia Duncan, and Northwest Territories Premier Stephen Kakfwi indicate they are confident the two far northern regions each contain enough natural gas to support its own transportation system.
