As part of a major review of its ethical policy, The Co-operative Bank today announced that it is hoping to instigate the biggest ever public debate on genetic engineering.
The Bank's Director of Corporate Affairs, Simon Williams, believes that until now the GM controversy in the UK has been seen on a very simplistic level but he thinks that the time is ripe for a more informed debate.
