Ion Optics, Inc. (Waltham, MA, 781-788-8777)(www.ion-optics.com) raised $1.4 million in its first round of private placement financing to support prototype development and spearhead the commercialization of their MEMS optical-based gas sensor made on silicon wafers. The funding round was oversubscribed. Fechtor, Detwiler and Co., Inc. (Boston, MA) served as Ion Optics' investment banker and financial advisor in the private placement. Lead investors include Ardesta LLC (formerly MEMS Tech) (Ann Arbor, MI) and Ideal Partners of New York and Washington.
