For over a year natural gas is being used in Paysandu in Uruguay, and it will arrive to Montevideo, Colonia, San Jose and Canelones soon and to the rest of the districts in Uruguay in the next few years. The arrival of natural gas to Uruguay is caused not only by the Government's decision but also UTE's which will be affected by the competition of the two existing pipeline distributors of gas in the country: Gaseba in Montevideo and Conecta in the provinces.
