Mar. 16--SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif.--Nearly a decade ago, the mission in San Juan Capistrano was in trouble.
It faced a wall of debt. The old mission's sandstone walls were crumbling.
Rain was turning adobe walls into mud.
Fewer people were showing up for tours.
So the Catholic Church hired former investment banker Gerald J. Miller to turn it around.
