The Ice Elite synchronized skating team is ready to compete this weekend in the U.S. National Synchronized Team Skating Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo.
"I feel that we can medal and I honestly believe the girls can do that," said coach Julianne Sennese of her team's outlook at nationals. The team left Tuesday morning and will compete on Friday.
The team, which practices at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva and includes girls from throughout the Western suburbs, qualified for the nationals by finishing second in the Mid-Western Regionals at St. Louis.
