PHOENIX - If you want the long-awaited Lexus SC 430 hardtop convertible, my advice is to rush to your dealer and place your order immediately - and then be prepared to wait.
Lexus' first convertible went on sale yesterday. A total of 9,500 have been ordered and only 12,000 will be built in the current model year.
The hardtop convertible carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $58,455. Only three factory options are offered: run-flat tires ($400), spoiler ($440) and the Lexus Navigation System ($2,000) bringing the price of a fully loaded model to $61,295 plus a delivery fee of $545.
