Elk River didn't fear St. Paul Central's speed and uptempo brand of basketball.
Quite the contrary. The Elks felt comfortable against it. After all, it's also their modus operandi.
"I think when you're a fan, it's fun to see action," Elk River coach Larry Krieg said. "Our kids love to play that way."
Both teams played 32 minutes at breakneck speed Thursday, racing up and down the court, hoping the other eventually would wear down.
