Put aside their political party affiliations, and the differences between the candidates for Madison's 5th District become difficult to spot.
Jessy Tolkan, 19, and Andy Nathan, 22, both are studying political science at UW-Madison. Both are active in the Associated Students of Madison, having plunged headfirst into the university's student government upon their arrival on campus.
And both say they're running for the City Council seat for the same reason: There's not enough student involvement in the campus district.
Their campaign platforms are heavy with student issues.
