FTSE, New York, wants to clear up the confusion surrounding SRIs and what kind of stock qualifies as "socially responsible." FTSE seeks to set a global standard for SRIs while increasing awareness and acceptance of SRIs within the international business community, according to a spokesperson for the company.
It will launch a FTSE4Good series of funds this June, part of the company's ongoing effort to turn SRIs into a mainstream investment vehicle. For the project, FTSE has partnered with UNICEF, its philanthropic partner in the U.K. since 1996.
All of the money generated by the FTSE4Good index family will be donated by FTSE to UNICEF. The total donation ...
