A majority of parents of children with asthma feel a loss of control when dealing with this lung disease even when they consider it to be mild, according to a new national survey released in concurrence with the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) annual conference taking place this week. The survey, CARA -- Children with Asthma at Risk in America, conducted by Yankelovich Partners with sponsorship from AstraZeneca, assessed the perceptions of 500 parents on the risks of poorly controlled asthma, the impact of the disease on their family and children's lives and the medications used to control it.
