NEWARK, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approved a 2.4 percent rate increase for Hackensack Water Company at its meeting today. The increase, Hackensack's first in more than two years, will go into effect for water service rendered starting today. The estimated $2 million in additional annual revenues will provide a return on more than $16 million the company invested last year on construction of major water projects.
