This study examines the relationships between maternal employment and schoolchildren's educational aspirations in Korea. Dramatic demographic and social changes in Korea since the 1960s have increased the number of women in the labor market. Prior research has not clarified the impact that married women's labor force participation has had on schoolchildren's educational aspirations. Subjects were drawn from a population of 5th- and 10th-graders. Students from single-parent homes were excluded. Mothers and students completed separate questionnaires. ...
