Mar. 19--WEST VIRGINIA TO HOST TURKISH TRADE OFFICIALS: The first Appalachian-Turkish Trade Project, hosted by Gov. Bob Wise and Sen. Robert C. Byrd, D-W.Va., will be held Friday in Jefferson County.

Last year, congressional members from 13 states launched the trade initiative with Turkey, a country the U.S. Department of Commerce calls one of the top 10 "big emerging markets."

Wise and Byrd will speak with Baki Ilkin, Turkish ambassador to the United States; W. Robert Pearson, U.S. ambassador to Turkey, and John Breidenstine, the Department of Commerce's senior commercial ...
