Mar. 19--Santa Claus skipped most Nebraska businesses during the holiday shopping season, but the folks in Sarpy County must have left St. Nick a pretty tasty plate of cookies.

Sarpy County's net taxable sales during December increased 11.8 percent over the same month in 1999. The county notched $66.2 million worth of net taxable sales in December, up from $59.2 million the previous year. December is the most recent month for which the net taxable sales figures are available.
