MAYOR'S EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND ACCEPTS CHECK FROM CHRYSLER CORP.
DETROIT, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Mayor Coleman A. Young accpeted a $150,000 check for the Mayor's Emergency Relief Fund from Chrysler Corporation and immediately disbursed checks totaling $120,000 to 18 Detroit soup kitchens.
The check from Chrysler was delivered by Chrysler Vice Chairman Gerald Greenwald in ceremonies at the mayor's office.
The mayor also received on behalf of the Emergency Relief Fund a check for $657,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to assist in emergency shelter operations in the city. The check was presented by Harry ...
