LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY ANNOUNCES 1988 FINANCIAL RESULTS
BOSTON, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Liberty Mutual Insurance Company reported a net gain from operations of $86,853,000 for 1988, compared with a net gain from operations of $202,678,000 for 1987.
Net premiums written by the Boston-based companies totalled $6,778,224,000, an increase of 6.2 percent, compared to a 16.6 percent gain in 1987. The companies recorded a net underwriting loss of $522,436,000 and declared dividends to policyholders of $357,112,000, while investment income for the year was $965,929,000.
