Mar. 23--Telephone customers are facing yet another new fee -- this time for continuing to have their long-distance charges included on their local phone bills.
AT&T, the nation's No. 1 long-distance provider, will add a $1.50 monthly charge to local phone bills starting next month. In January, Sprint tacked on a similar fee for its long-distance customers who don't have Sprint local service in North Carolina. WorldCom is doing it in other states but hasn't added the fee in North Carolina yet.
